The 2022 South African 1 oz Gold Big Five Elephant is the first in a brand new series from the South African Mint. This also represents the first bullion coin release since the inception of the Krugerrand in 1967.
This series will see a new coin design every 5 years, ultimately representing the big five of Africa.
The obverse Features an intricately detailed elephant above the words South Africa and Big Five 2022. Meanwhile the reverse features a closeup image of two elephants, alongside pertinent information such as weight, purity and denomination.
