The 2023 British 1 oz Silver Britannia Type 2 (BU) debuts the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III.
For 2023 the first issue of Britannia coins featured the final effigy of Queen Elizabeth the II on the obverse. These were unofficially referred to as the type 1s. In early 2023 the obverse changed to the first effigy of King Charles the III.
